Earlier this week, on Wednesday 28th July 2021, the new UK Police Memorial was dedicated during a ceremony at the National Memorial Arboretum, in Staffordshire.
This beautiful and iconic memorial honours the courage and sacrifice of members of the UK Police Service who have dedicated their lives to protecting all of us and to mark the occasion the dedication was held in the presence of His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales.
Dave Blundell, Engagement officer for Police Care UK, and chairman of Police Charities UK was present, and laid a wreath on behalf of all 26 current members of Police
Charities UK. He later chatted for a few minutes with HRH Prince Charles about Police Charities UK and the important work that we all do.
Dave said, “It was a privilege and an honour to have been asked to lay a wreath for all members of Police Charities UK, and to have the opportunity to tell Prince Charles about all our work, was great. Being part of this event strengthened our relationships with the other police charities, and raised the profile with all 400 attendees on the day.”
