This October, join the UK wide Blue Light Get Active Challenge, a month long campaign to inspire all emergency services across the UK to get active physically and mentally and enjoy all the benefits whilst helping raise funds for our fantastic national charities.
The UK’s Emergency Services community has come together again to promote good health and wellbeing. We’re seeking every Fire, Police and Ambulance Service officer, staff member and supporters to join our Blue Light Get Active Challenge starting this January. Get moving, boost your mental and physical wellbeing, and support our national blue light charities who do so much for us.
Taking place from 01 October until 31 October, the charity challenge will see participants tasked with clocking up as many miles or minutes of fitness or mindfulness exercises as they can throughout the month. The campaign aims to help improve the health and wellbeing of frontline workers while raising vital funds for the four charities that provide much needed support to the UK’s emergency services teams.
Following an exceptionally challenging two years where emergency services teams have been under more pressure than ever before, a recent study by MIND revealed that 69% of emergency responders felt like their mental health had deteriorated as a result of the pandemic. This was due to increased workloads, exposure to traumatic events and worries over passing on the coronavirus to their loved ones
Log physical exercise such as walking, running, cycling, swimming, yoga and more.
Log mental activities like reading, meditation, pilates, random acts of kindness and more.
Log social activities such as volunteering, bowling with friends, puzzles and more.

Get Active Challenges are online active campaigns for companies, charities and individuals that centre around physical and mental well being, team engagement and charity fundraising through physical activities.
Sign up securely online for £15 with 50% of your entry going directly to the blue light charities.
The remainder or each entry is used to go towards and cover running and administrative costs, website costs, P&P costs of sending the medal, banking, credit card and PayPal charges, and VAT etc. These frees are kept as low as possible.
The Blue Light Get Active Challenge 2.0 will run from 1st October – 31st October 2021.
It's super easy! Once the challenge starts, participants need to use the Get Active website or App to log all activity. You will be able to log activity from 1st October and your login emails will be emailed to you prior to the start of the challenge.
No you don't have to fundraise, this is completely up to you! 50% of the sign up fee goes to charity and any additional fundraising is completely optional.
If you take on some feel-good fundraising as part of your challenge, set up a page via our Just Giving link (coming soon) to include your fundraising in our totals.
Steps / Walk / Run: 1 mile = 10 points
Class / Workout / Mindfulness: 10 mins = 6.5 points
Swim: 100 metres = 2 points
Cycle: 1 mile = 3.33 points

In general, we aim to dispatch your beautifully commissioned medal to you within 2 weeks of the end of the challenge.
